A good quality pair cased quarter repeating pocket watch signed William Burton London. Tested 18k on both cases. Circa 1720 possibly as late as 1730. Running well and repeats clearly on a steel polished Bell. The later white enamel dial is in great condition and has gold hands.
The fire gilded movement is in good order and strikes correctly and smoothly...and very loudly....nicely engraved on the back plate and cock. The movement, dust cover and inner case are all numbered 1879. Running full length of the chain and keeping reasonable time. The all or nothing for the striking does not function.
Beautifully engraved pair cases both closing crisply. Outer case showing some wear.
This is a good reliable pocket watch which ticks a lot of boxes for the serious collector.
