an early pre-hairspring movement fitted into a later case....movement is circa 1640 and case is circa 1700. strikes the hours on the hour with a hammer on a steel bell.
fire gilded movement with fancy pillars, engraved striking spring barrel and pierced/engraved striking gate. very compact movement. chain and fusee....
blued steel components together with an engraved count plate...pierced and engraved coq and set up furniture. finely engraved Johannes Buz Aug(sburg)
single steel blue hand....georgous silver champleve dial.....dial is circa 1660-1670 but there is no evidence of modifications....so either made for the movement or assembled onto movement at a later date...pinned to the dial plate....
has nagshead actuation under the dial for the striking.
